About Dr. Amanuel
Dr. Amanuel Tesfai is a General, Respiratory and Sleep Disorders Physician. Dr Tesfai obtained his fellowship with The Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2007. He undertook his further advanced training in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at Monash Medical Centre and the Western Hospital. He has extensive experience in the management of respiratory disorders. Dr. Tesfai also has a particular clinical interest in Sleep Disorders and is the Director of Holmesglen Lung Function Laboratory.
Dr. Tesfai has expertise in the perioperative assessment and co-management of patients undergoing general and obesity surgery. As a perioperative physician, Dr. Tesfai will help patients navigate the healthcare system and coordinate their care to ensure they are optimised for surgery. He delivers patient-centred, multidisciplinary, integrated care for patients from the contemplation of surgery throughout the surgical pathway to recovery. His high-quality perioperative care reduces complications, improves outcomes, and leads to improved patient satisfaction and patient safety.
Dr. Tesfai is a current member of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand and Australian Association of Consultant Physicians.
